Prince of Peace

“For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6, NKJV

“Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peacegoodwill toward men!” Luke 2:14, NKJV

We are living in a time of increasing unrest. Even during the Christmas season, many people are too busy, stressed, stretched thin. Yet Jesus came to bring us peace. Not the feel-good, don’t-ruffle-anyone’s-feathers, secular kind of peace, but a deeper peace that surpasses understanding (Philippians 4:7).

“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” John 14:27, NKJV

In this month’s blog assignment, focus on Jesus as the Prince of Peace.

Who is the Prince of Peace to you personally?

When have you felt peace that you knew was from Jesus, maybe even during a trial?

Are there any areas of your life that would be different if you surrendered them to the Prince of Peace?

How can you bring peace to your home, your community, the world?

“Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way. The Lord be with you all.” II Thessalonians 3:16

Merry Christmas!
