“Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.” – 1 Peter 5:8

Did you start out the new year refreshed and ready to “fight the good fight?” Were you ready to face the challenges and changes brought by the COVID 19 pandemic? But now, do you find yourself discouraged, disillusioned, disappointed or defeated? This is a dangerous place to be.

Like a lion, our enemy waits for the sick and the weak to get separated from the herd, and then he attacks. The good news is, God can restore us, just like he did for people like Elijah in the Old Testament!

No one can perform at high levels at all times. We all need strategies for rest and replenishment. The higher the levels of our exertion, and the greater the changes going on around us, the more we need rhythms of recovery built into our daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly routines.

  • What recovery strategies do you use when facing challenges?
  • Share biblical truths or personal prayer answered to illustrate how God has been able to restore you during times of trouble.
